The work

What we are called for

  • It has stopped

Capacitors, contactors, blocked condensate lines, low charge from a slow leak, control boards and blower motors. Each has a test, and the test comes before the quote.

  • It runs, but the house is damp

Cooling removes moisture only while it runs. Sizing, fan speed and duct leakage decide how dry the house actually gets.

  • Something electrical happened

A strike nearby, a surge, a breaker that will not stay in. This coast sees more of it than most, and the damage is not always obvious on the first start.

  • It is time to replace

Sized from the building, with the ductwork checked and the pad, drain and electrical done properly.

Storms & surges

Lightning does not have to hit the house

Most surge damage to air conditioning equipment comes from strikes nearby rather than direct hits — through the supply, through the low-voltage wiring, or through whatever else is connected.

The check asks what happened and what is fitted, and tells you what is worth doing before the next storm and what to check after one.

Questions

Before you call

A breaker tripped during a storm. Should I keep resetting it?

Reset it once. If it trips again, leave it off — repeated resetting into a fault damages more than it fixes. Our storms and surges page sets out what to check at each stage.

Does surge protection actually work?

It reduces the energy that reaches the equipment; it does not promise that nothing will ever be damaged. A device at the panel, a device at the equipment and sound grounding are the layers, and a direct strike can exceed all of them.

Do you fit surge devices?

We fit them at the equipment disconnect and test what is already there. The device at the electrical panel is an electrician's job and we will say so rather than doing it.

Why does my house feel damp even when it is cool?

Cooling removes moisture only while it runs. An oversized system reaches the set point quickly and shuts off, leaving the water behind. Sizing, fan speed and duct leakage are what change it.

Do you serve businesses as well as houses?

Yes — retail units, offices, clinics, restaurants and association buildings, with maintenance recorded per unit.

Which areas do you cover?

Palm Coast, Bunnell, Flagler Beach, Ormond Beach, Hammock and Daytona North, and south St Johns County.
